The pub is located approx ½ mile from Stockport town centre. It is situated in an historic old part of Stockport. In medieval times there was a well defended castle and the steepest entry was through Hillgate. The pub is in a busy area on a main link road from the A6 Buxton Rd., through to the town centre bypass and ultimately to the M60. It is surrounded by shops and small industrial units..
 

Description
The pub is a detached building that sits on the corner of a busy road junction. It is a very visible pub and is a landmark in the area. It has elements of being a community local but in the daytime customers are attracted by its bar meals. Food is served from a reasonably well equipped kitchen. This is a great little pub
