Dusty Miller

Location

Wrenbury is a typical rural Cheshire village with a village green. It lies on the River Weaver, around 5 miles from Nantwich. There is a church dating back to 1500, The Dusty Miller is a short walk from the village green, just three metres from the Shropshire Union Canal. The canal creates much interest with a constant stream of boats slipping through the Lift Bridge on their journey to and from Llangollen. Uniquely, the River Weaver runs under the canal through a Thomas Telford designed aqueduct and alongside the Dusty Miller. At this point, the river once provided a millrace for the Dusty Miller building, when in years gone by it was used to mill corn.

Description

The pub still has a mill like appearance and is a stand alone building lying between the River Weaver and the Canal. It has an idyllic and picturesque setting with the area surrounded by mature trees. There is a large car park (30 cars) which is bisected by a wooden bridge over the river. There is access to a large beer garden. This area is accessed over a wooden bridge. This is very much a destination food house . Food is approx 70% of sales. Because of its location, sales are seasonal. Trade comes from the canal users, cyclists (on the Cheshire cycle route) and ‘drive to’. The inside has a great rustic atmosphere and is on two levels. . There is a very well equipped kitchen on the first floor that serves food to the ground floor via a dumb waiter. A recent addition to the facilities of the pub is the opportunity to develop a tea room. Work is 95% completed for a prospective tenant to take advantage of this expanded retailing opportunity.

Trading Accommodation

The main bar is on the ground floor together with a lounge which can accommodate 40+ covers. It has good views over the canal through picture windows. There is also an upstairs dining room that can also be used for functions. This can accommodate 50 covers. The decor and style of the fixtures and fittings throughout are in excellent condition and reflects its mill heritage with wooden beams etc..

Private Accommodation

The domestic areas consist of a two bedroom flat together with lounge and dining kitchen. There are also the usual bathroom facilities. The condition of the domestics is excellent. There is a very large loft space which is ideal for storage.
